Dr. S. Saravana Kumar

Dr. S. Saravana Kumar is an experienced surgeon specializing in bariatric surgery, obesity and diabetes management, advanced laparoscopic surgery, and upper gastrointestinal procedures. He has been associated with Prof. Dr. C. Palanivelu since 2008, developing his expertise in advanced laparoscopic surgical techniques under his guidance.

Since 2012, he has been part of the Upper GI surgical team, performing major procedures involving hernia, gallbladder, and upper gastrointestinal conditions. He also has a special interest in obesity and metabolic surgery and has worked closely with Dr. Praveen Raj in this field since 2013. Currently, he serves as Lead Consultant in the Department of Obesity & Diabetes Surgery and Senior Consultant in Upper GI & Hernia Surgery.

He has participated as faculty at national and international conferences, conducted CME programs, seminars, and surgical training courses, and published more than 30 research papers in reputed journals. He has also co-authored books on bariatric and metabolic surgery.
