Dr K Balamukunthan

Dr. K. Balamukunthan is a Consultant Nephrologist and Kidney Transplant Physician with specialised training and clinical experience in nephrology and renal transplantation. He developed a strong interest in nephrology during his postgraduate training in General Medicine, which led him to pursue a DM in Nephrology at Sri Ramachandra Medical College, Chennai.

During his training, he received guidance from renowned nephrologist Professor Soundarrajan. He subsequently worked at Coimbatore Kidney Centre for two years under the mentorship of Dr. K. S. Ramalingam, where he gained substantial experience in kidney transplantation. During this period, he participated in 150 renal transplants, including 25 across-blood-group kidney transplants.

Dr. Balamukunthan specialises in nephrology and kidney transplantation, with a clinical focus on providing comprehensive care for patients with kidney diseases and those requiring renal transplant evaluation and management.
