Dr. N. Anand Vijay

Dr. N. Anand Vijai is a Clinical Lead in the Department of Gastrointestinal Surgery at GEM Hospital and Research Centre, specializing in Hepato Pancreato Biliary (HPB) surgery and liver transplantation. Trained under the guidance of renowned surgeon Dr. C. Palanivelu, he has over 21 years of surgical experience and expertise in advanced laparoscopic and robotic procedures.

He was an active team member of India's first laparoscopic living-donor liver transplant surgery. His clinical interests include liver transplantation, liver and pancreatic cancer surgery, biliary disorders and minimally invasive HPB procedures. His expertise extends to managing conditions affecting the gallbladder, bile ducts, pancreas, liver and spleen.

Dr. Anand Vijai is actively involved in surgical research, medical education and professional societies, including the Liver Transplant Society of India. His research interests include artificial liver support for liver failure and pancreatic transplantation. He is also committed to training young surgeons in laparoscopic procedures and advancing minimally invasive surgical techniques.
